The WordCamp US event in San Diego was a major opportunity for the StellarWP brand to make an impact on the WordPress community. As such, we knew we had to go above and beyond to stand out and make a memorable impression.
Our team put our heads together and came up with the idea of creating luxury candles with cheeky messages, such as “This Candle Smells Like Your Code Working on the First Try.” We also developed a custom magic 8 ball that visitors could shake to determine their foremost problem, and then receive a corresponding candle to help solve it.
The response to our brand activation was overwhelmingly positive. We received more brand mentions than any other company at the event, even more than industry heavyweights like Automattic and Google. The buzz surrounding our candles continued long after the event ended, with community members posting about them for weeks to come.
In addition to the positive attention, our brand activation also led to the formation of four major new partnerships for StellarWP. All in all, it was a highly successful and impactful event for our brand.
